Developer Advocate

Serokell is a fully-remote software development company that works on innovative solutions for complex problems. We’re packed full with adventurous, curious, and inclusive folks that want to build cutting-edge software with modern technologies like functional programming.

We’re seeking a remote Developer Advocate to help us create developer-focused content. As a Developer Advocate, you will work with our marketing department on educational content for Serokell’s media channels such as our blog, YouTube channel, and the Functional Futures podcast. Day-to-day responsibilities can be highly flexible and depend on the unique skill set you will bring to the table.

  • Create technically-oriented content (such as blog articles, videos, podcast episodes, courses) that help developers improve their skills.
  • Work with external developers and clients, analyze their needs, and help them understand the benefits of technologies we use and whether they are the right choice for them.
  • Gather feedback on the behalf of the developer community to influence future content decisions made by Serokell’s marketing department.
  • Attend events such as conferences and meetups as the representative of Serokell.

  • Experience in creating any kind of written, audio, or video content: starting from documentation and technical writing to blogs, podcasts, YouTube, or TikTok.
  • Software development experience, either professional or as a hobby.
  • Familiarity with at least one of programming languages used at Serokell – Haskell, Elixir, Rust, TypeScript – or willingness to learn.
  • Fluent written and spoken English (B2+).

Welcome extras:

  • Prior active developer community participation. (A lot of things count: regular open-source contributions, weekly participation in Reddit, Slack, Discord channels, even a Twitter account with a reasonable following.)
  • Prior teaching experience (not necessarily in a technical context).

We offer:

  • Competitive salary.
  • Participation in the leading world conferences.
  • International team and multicultural environment.
  • Fully remote work and flexible working hours.
  • Possibility to take days off any time you need.
  • Investment in your professional and career growth.
  • Mentoring and training.
