We’re seeking a Rust software engineer to join the development of communication and control software for a civil services drones project.
Currently, we do not have open roles, and our hiring process is passive, with a focus on building a talent pool for future opportunities.
Hiring Process Overview: We invite interested candidates to complete an offline test task as the first step in our process. Within a few months of completing the task, we conduct a technical interview with those whose profiles align with our requirements. When a position opens, we reach out to candidates who performed well in both stages and match the specific role needs.
Requirements:
- Proficiency with Rust.
- Solid knowledge of Rust’s basics: type system, generics, lifetimes,
std
,serde
, logging, error handling, project organization and structure. - Extensive experience with Rust’s async ecosystem (
tokio
,futures
, streams). - Experience writing and running unit tests, integration tests.
General requirements:
- Knowledge of the fundamental algorithms and data structures like binary search tree, DFS, hashtable, quicksort, etc.
- Knowledge of computer networks: HTTP, TCP/IP stack, understanding of poll- and push-based data synchronization models and their usage in modern service APIs.
- Fluent spoken and written English.
Will be a plus if you have
- Experience with cross-compiling Rust
- Knowledge of video formats and codecs, experience with
gstreamer
- Experience with WebRTC
- Experience with PID or other feedback controllers
- Familiarity with C++
- Familiarity with strongly-typed functional languages and their patterns
Responsibilities:
- Develop robust, scalable, and maintainable Rust applications, adhering to best practices and coding standards.
- Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring code quality.
- Debug and resolve technical issues, identifying and implementing effective solutions.
